It all begins with an idea.

Tell me a little about yourself and/ or your business?

I am a mum to my darling Ayla and a wife to my amazing husband Andy.

I have always loved baking, ever since I was a child. Its a way for me to unwind and let my creative side do its thing.

I actually don't have a business, although it is something I would like to start in the near future. For now I am just making cakes for my close family & friends.

The last few years I have taught myself how to make event cakes. I have also invested in some quality courses & I love learning new ways of doing things.

Baking from a young age with my mum & nanna are some of my fondest memories. I hope to create more of these memories with my little girl.

What’s your favorite cake you have made so far? Attach a photo or two if you have it!

Honestly it was the arched cake I made for a wedding a few weekends ago. It was so much fun! Stressful haha but fun!

Also, I loved making my daughters first birthday cake.

I will send through some photos in a separate email.

Hardest part of caking and/or small business?

I just hope my clients love their cake. That's all I want and I do find myself stressing about it.

I am a perfectionist which can be good and bad.

What CFC course/s you’ve taken?

The arched cake tutorial.

What made you want to take a CFC course?

My bride asked if I could do an arch because that was a detail throughout her wedding, I said sure I'll give it a go!

I knew exactly where to go to get the right information to create such a beautiful cake. So thankyou!!

I have followed cfc for a while on Instagram. The cakes are so beautiful and I was so interested in the arched ones.

What was your experience like and how has the course changed the way you cake?

My experience was great. I just took my time. I liked having the videos and the hard copy of the instructions.

I've never used acrylic guide boards before because they kind of scared me. But after that cake I am looking at getting some round ones.

I'm also very interested in how you create such crisp white buttercream without air bubbles. I think I will do that tutorial next.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
